How Our Program Works
Once you have a prescription referral from your physician and a valid driver’s license, you’re ready to get started.
- Call 954-518-5542 to schedule your assessment with Memorial Rehabilitation Institute Outpatient Center
- You’ll receive a follow-up call to review your driving history
- Take your clinical assessment
- If recommended, take a behind-the-wheel assessment in our program vehicle, specially equipped for your safety
After your assessment, you can expect one of the following:
- We will sign off that you are safe to drive
- You will receive recommendations for vehicle adaptations and training to use it once you are able to obtain any needed equipment
- If your assessments determine you are unsafe to drive, we will provide you with recommendations for community resources, including public transportation or other services
