Outpatient Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will my insurance cover the therapy?

Every insurance plan is different. Benefits, coverage and limitations vary from plan to plan. Please check with your insurance company to determine your coverage and your financial responsibility. Some insurance companies may require pre-authorization for services, and this must be obtained by your primary care physician.

Memorial Healthcare System offers financial assistance for those who qualify. If you do not qualify for financial assistance, we also offer a prompt payment plan which offers you a discounted rate for payment at the time of service.

How long will my initial visit last and what should I bring?

For your initial visit, plan on being at our facility for an hour to an hour and a half. This includes time for registration, your evaluation, and time to schedule future appointments if necessary.

You will need to bring a prescription, photo ID and your insurance card. You may download and complete a patient information form ahead of time and bring it with you. Depending on your diagnosis, additional forms may be requested. It would also be helpful to bring along any additional reports you have that are related to your condition.

How long is each visit?
Therapy times vary depending on the service. Typically patients are seen for 30 to 60 minutes.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. You may be asked to wear a gown to expose the treatment area. You may want to bring a sweater.
Can I bring a family member with me?
We encourage family participation in the rehabilitation process and welcome your family members.
What will my treatment be like?
Our clinicians will develop an individualized plan of care for you, but generally, each patient receives a minimum of three hours of treatment daily, five to six times per week. You’ll receive a daily schedule that’s customized to your needs. (Typically, you won’t have therapy on the day of your discharge since our nurses, case managers, therapy team and your physiatrist will be working hard to get you ready to go home.)
